NexStride

This effective, unobtrusive device helps people with Parkinson’s to minimise, overcome, and prevent frustrating and debilitating freezing episodes.

NexStride discreetly fastens to a cane, walker or walking poles. Its uniquely combined audio and visual cues let you break free of Parkinson's freezing, and start walking again.  Users can activate the audio cue, visual cue, or both, and adjust to preferred speed and distance.

Cueing works by using physical stimuli (like lasers and/or beeps) to help the brain process time and create spatial awareness; this facilitates the initiation of movement and the continuation of movement. You can choose to turn on these cues only when you need or want them.

How It Works

NexStride is the world’s first customisable device to combine visual and auditory cues to help people with Parkinson’s overcome freezing of gait. Put simply, it re-establishes communication pathways between the brain and the body, when a freezing episode occurs.
It attaches to canes, walkers, or walking poles in seconds and is fully adjustable to meet your individual needs.

Compact & Discreet

The palm sized main unit and discreet button attach easily and tidily to any poles, canes or walkers. It is also lightweight so doesn’t add any bulk to your current mobility support.

Multidirectional Green Laser

Did you know, green lasers are the most efficient to see in broad daylight and from furthest distances? The NexStride laser line is highly adjustable to and can be set to best suit your stride target.

Adjustable Metronome

If you prefer an audio cue, the metronome has an adjustable pace and volume control at your fingertips.
Of course, you can use both the audio and visual cue together if you wish!

Overcoming Freezing

Product Details

Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease where the connections between the brain and body progressively fail. The neural pathways between your brain and your foot muscles are no longer communicating effectively, causing problems such as freezing of gait, also known as 'Parkinson's disease walk' or 'Parkinsonian gait.'

Although Parkinson’s Disease is a very involved neurologic disease, the latest research shows that physical therapy and external cues from technology such as NexStride can significantly improve quality of life and overall mobility.

What People Are Saying

The NexStride is working beautifully. She uses the word 'amazing'. She is moving about as she hasn't for a long time. I would describe it as transformative for us.

— Thomas Brown, Caregiver

The NexStride gives me a sense of freedom, I'm not waiting around the house for my wife to come help me. It really makes a difference. That's been a big change for me. If I want to go into another room, I'm not waiting, I can get up and go do it.

— Glenn Morgan, Beta Tester

My wife hops up and is ready to go with NexStride. Before she would freeze up, get the walker out in front of her, and she would fall down. She has zero falls with NexStride!

— Roger McBride, Caregiver
